May Split RCCL ScaredSOWhat | S3-EP. 24 | Our Take On Cruise

In this split edition of “Our Take on Cruise,” Roger Blum is aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Independence of the Seas, celebrating his son Maxwell Blum’s college graduation. He shares the fantastic experiences they had onboard, including water slides, flow riders, rock climbing walls, and more. He also praises the crew for their outstanding service and the perfect day they had at CocoCay.

Roger also had the opportunity to visit Nassau and was impressed by the transformation happening at Global Ports Holding Plc’s new Nassau Cruise Port Ltd. While it’s not fully open yet, the changes are remarkable, and he looks forward to experiencing it once it’s complete. He also enjoyed the new Baha Bay waterpark at the Baha Mar resort, emphasizing that Nassau is changing for the better.

In a somber note, Roger expresses condolences for the loss of Orfila Salazar, the head of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic’s Cruise Department. She was a beloved figure in the cruise industry and played a significant role in making the DR’s cruise ports popular worldwide.

Shannon McKee discusses Dr. Grant Van Ulbrich’s new book, “Transforming Sales Management,” and her involvement in it as a featured case study on page 186. She shares her admiration for Dr. Van Ulbrich’s passion and accomplishments, including his unique program called “Scared So What” on managing personal change. Shannon encourages everyone to follow their passions in life, as change is a constant in the cruise industry.
