In this week’s edition of “Our Take on Cruise”, Roger Blum and Shannon McKee cover some hot topics. The #cruiseindustry is ever #evolving so it never seems to be lacking some big news.
Carnival Corporation signed the first newbuild contract in five years, with the announcement of another Excel Class vessel for Carnival Cruise Line and the addition of one or two newbuilds a year starting in 2027. Royal Caribbean Group also announced Oasis Class vessel LUCKY #7 for Royal Caribbean International.
We see big changes at Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings LTD, Joint Owner/Operator of Four Seasons Yachts with the departure of two industry veterans. Both Larry Pimentel and Philip Levine are leaving the start-up. This came as a big surprise that both industry executives would be leaving prior to the launch of the #FourSeasons first vessel. Co-founder Nadim Ashi will remain. Was anyone else surprised?
Walter Littlejohn III, who recently joined SeaDream Yacht Club is moving on, and Bob Becker will join the company. Both are well known names in cruise line sales, so this is an interesting move.
