Shannon McKee and Roger Blum have a special #ValentinesDay edition of “Our Take on Cruise.” First of all, they debate if Valentine’s Day is celebrated around the world, so since there’s an international audience, please feel free to let them know in the comments below.
But it’s not just about 💝. This is the second week in a row that they use the word “Evolution.” It’s not that their vocabulary is limited. The theme for this year’s Seatrade Cruise Global is, “The Evolution of Cruising,” and they can’t think of a more timely theme. Everything in this industry has evolved tremendously in just a few years, so at this next Seatrade, they’ll focus on how cruising has evolved, what is still evolving, and how to be in front of the future evolution (don’t miss it).
They also discuss cruise lines branching out to new homeports (congratulations to Norwegian Cruise Line and Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) as well as to MSC Cruises and Galveston Wharves at Port of Galveston). In addition, they discuss the significant increase in cruise line web traffic during wave season, and point out the noticeable increases for MSC Cruises and Holland America Line. They’re particularly impressed with HAL, since they’re setting records during wave season with fewer berths than pre-pandemic.
Lastly – a big shout-out to their friend Miguel Reyna who is returning to #Miami as Chief Development Officer for Cruise Terminals International . Many people know Miguel from his many years (and many projects) at Royal Caribbean Group and his time (and even more projects) at Cruise Saudi. CTI already has some great projects.
